You Shall Be the Miracle

Gosh, I have a lot to say today, don't I?  Can you tell my mind is going a thousand miles a minute?!?  I hope this slows down some, or I am never going to be able to keep up with the laundry...

This came in my inbox today from a friend.  It was to a group of us, not sent to me for any specific reason, except that I am on her list.

Progress has always been made by people who faced their fears and rose above them. They knew that opportunity and security were opposites. The truth is, if the challenge you’re facing doesn’t place a demand on your faith, it neither pleases God nor involves Him.

Phillips Brooks said, “Do not pray for easy lives; pray to be stronger people! Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers; pray for powers equal to your tasks. Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle, but you shall be the miracle. Every day you shall wonder at yourself, at the richness of life which has come to you by the grace of God.”

Often times I sit, listening to the sermon in church, or to a friend speak, or even while watching something on TV or reading an article, and I truly believe that there is a bullseye painted on my forehead.  You see this lady?  She needs a little dose of this and this.  BAM!

Being able to talk about my faith is a relatively new thing...so forgive me if this sounds weird or choppy.  But I believe so strongly that God uses us to be His hands and feet all the time.  You can only sit around and pray for a miracle for so long before you need to get up off your own heiney and ACT.  You shall be the miracle.

Somewhere, across the world, Danil's birth parents, for reasons that I cannot comprehend, prayed for someone to give him a life better than what they could.  I strongly feel like we are not called anymore to ask for the miracle, but to be the miracle...to be the answer to their prayer.

I guess I have a kind of "move your arse" kind of faith, a belief that there is good in the world because of people walking in faith.

Anyway.  Just my divine thought of the day.
