Lots going on around here-- time for an update!!
1- We have completed our home study process, and only have a couple of documents to get to our wonderful social worker to allow her to finish her report.
2- We were interviewed by Channel 14 this morning!! Can't wait to see our story on TV!!
3- Bryan and I both got our medicals done and I am apparently deficient in Vitamin D. Wish that the nurse on the phone had told me that AFTER giving me my HIV results, because she left a very long pause after saying, "We have your test results, and....." People! You don't take a giant breath before giving out HIV test results!! Of course the pause was there to tell me about the Vitamin D and that she was calling in a prescription for me (and my HIV results were negative, of course), but for Heaven's sakes, don't make me worry!!
4- We learned that there is currently a 60 day turn-around on the i600a form. That is the form that we send to immigration to be approved to adopt in the United States (as far as I can gather) and we need our completed home study to send in with that. When we are approved, they send us back a 171H, which is really the last big piece of paperwork that we need for our dossier! After that, we send our dossier to Eastern Europe and anxiously await our court appointment!! So, hypothetically, if all of the stars align, we could have our home study done by the end of March, our i600a sent in by April, our dossier submitted by June, and travel sometime soon after that...?!!! Eeeee!
5- Our blog auction is going really well! Thanks again to everyone who donated such awesome stuff, and also to our bidders :) You guys rock. Remember, you have until Feb 28th at 11:59pm to bid!!
6- Look for a new fundraiser to begin in early March. I have it from a good source that there *may* be an iPad giveaway :)
I just found your blog through a forwarded email and I am incredibly moved by your story...and how God moves us to do things we don't expect we will. And your adoption journey is just amazing so far. I am praying for you AT THIS VERY MOMENT and can not wait to hear about the next step!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jessica!! So glad you are here with us :)
