This is right outside TGI Fridays. Those buses are filled with police men in riot gear headed toward the protests in downtown.
SWAT guys. You can google Yulia Tymenchenko and see what the protests are about. She is the ex-prime minister, and was arrested the afternoon that we arrived.
Creepy dude who was looking for handouts so that he could feed his pet rat. After I gave him a dollar, he told us to take his picture and offered to let us hold his rat. We took him up on the photo op, but said Nyet Sasiba to the rat-holding.
Group photo of the Reece's Rainbow families here right now: Left to right, Eric and Jenny Monier, us, Jeffrey, Shannon, and Carson Hazelton.
Sushi restaurant for lunch, and I ordered water with gas-- I'm kind of starting to like the carbonated water here :)
*sidenote: my forehead seems to be getting bigger.
When buying chocolate here, the two on the left are thumbs UP!
This brand is ok, but thumbs DOWN in comparison.
Photos of our apartment in K***. It's clean because we are packed and ready to get on the train :)

A little wiggle worm on our laps.
This is the bench that we sat on today:

Our new apartment in region (super nice!):
Our window overlooks a river and the city center:
I'm gonna take Danilo on this playground soon :)
Our new wi-fi hotspot. The people at McDonald's are going to get to know us real well... (tip: try the tomato, cucumber, olive, and feta cheese salad, the fried cheese bites, and the strawberry hot pie!)

I LOVE the pics & the updates. Danilo looks like such a sweet boy! Praying that things go as smoothly as possible. :)
ReplyDeleteLaurie,
ReplyDeleteWow, it is so great to see you guys with Danil. I really enjoyed seeing the pictures of his region too. Brings back good memories of our time there with our Julia. Praying that everything goes smoothly. You are in good hands. I will continue to follow you each day of your journey.
Patty
Just read the last 6 days or so. Amazing experience and glad you took the time to document the first meeting. I felt like I was experiencing it with you and I agree you will want to remember every detail. Way to go Bryan for your patience as well! Very excited for all three of you!
