We were getting ready to go to the orphanage this morning when Tatyana called and told us that the cleaning lady for our apartment (yes- we have a cleaning lady that comes about every 2 weeks- Holla! It's included in our rent- we're not being extravagant! LOL!) was going to come Tuesday while we were at the orphanage. So we were good, since it's Monday, and we'd have this evening to tidy up (pre-clean, if you will) before she came.
Except when we were leaving the apartment, the cleaning lady was outside our door, because Tatyana had called to say that the cleaning lady was coming TO-day, not TUES-day. You should have seen us, both Bryan and I racing around the apartment, picking up dirty clothes and putting random junk away while she waited. I mean, it's not disgusting or anything, but certainly some clutter builds up. It's not like we're entertaining guests here or anything! Too funny.
So we finally make it to the orphanage, and Danila is a happy, happy boy to see us. Highlights:
*He remembered the sign for cookie, and signed "eat more cookie" and "thank you" without any prompting!
*He told us he had to go to the bathroom- which means that he isn't just time trained. Sweet!!
*The way he likes to look through our photo book and point to everyone and hear/say their names.
*Hanging out with the resident donkeys.
Pics :)
The best part about building blocks:
I brought some sliced nectarines today, but before he'd try it, I had to show him that it was good to eat:
And then he gave it a try, and ate 1/2 of one before giving the rest to Daddy. We'll try again another time :)
Love this one. Can't get him to sit still for a photo with both of us unless he has a snack!
Daddy and son :)
He wanted to sit by himself to look through the photos again:
He let me look with him after a while:
The Hee-Haw (Danya likes looking at him, but won't go too close...which is fine because I really have no idea how friendly this guy is.):

I'm so glad you guys are able to continue visiting him. Love! And WTH is that donkey?! LOL
ReplyDeleteaw, those pictures are awesome.
ReplyDeleteour neighbors have donkeys. I do not understand the appeal, personally.
